Mike Ryan - About Bishopstown Physiotherapy

Mike Ryan
B.Sc. (Hons) Physiotherapy

Mike Ryan graduated from the Bsc Physiotherapy program in UL in 2021. He has gained experience in varying areas, including ICU, surgical respiratory physiotherapy neurorehabilitation and musculoskeletal injuries.

Now, a fully chartered physiotherapist, Mike has a keen interest in sports performance and injuries of all kinds especially, but not limited to, populations in GAA and rugby. He also works well with patients dealing with persistent pain, neck and back issues and general neural pain.
Mike likes to implement a blended approach of hands-on and home exercise prescription, working with patients to help them to fit it all into their routine.

Mike uses manual therapy to facilitate the exercise that will provide longer-term relief, while also considering a person’s lifestyle in order to form a clear pathway to recovery. Over the next 12 months, Mike will complete courses in dry-needling, IRFU SAFE course level 2, manipulations and other information based courses around persistent pain, functional movement and sports performance. Mike will also be a member of Dave O’Sullivan’s “Go-To Mentorship”, adding to his sports physiotherapy skills.

Mike chose physiotherapy as he has had a sporting background from a young age, with underage representative honours in both rugby and GAA and a maintained enthusiasm for sport in general.
