Though many of our patients are referred to us by their G.P. or specialists, you do not need to have a referral to see one of our CORU registered Chartered Physiotherapists.
NOTE: Some Health Insurance Providers may not repay your fees if you do not have a G.P. referral. Please contact your Health Insurance Provider to review your policy
On your first visit, your Chartered Physiotherapist will take a detailed history of your complaint. They will review any x-ray or MRI results/scans (if applicable). A range of clinical assessments will be performed e.g. range of movement, strength etc. This will allow the physiotherapist make a diagnosis and design a treatment plan with you, The Chartered Physiotherapist will explain what your problem is, what has caused it, what to do to fix it, how long this should take and an estimate of the number of visits required. We will liaise with your GP or consultant if necessary. Treatment will begin on the first visit.
If you have a doctors/consultants referral or any x-rays or scans relating to relevant injury or cause of you discomfort, please bring them along. Bring appropriate clothing such as a pair of shorths if we’re treating your knee or leg problems. Some women prefer to wear a thin strap singlet when we are treating neck or shoulder problems.
Your first appointment usually takes 45 minutes during which time you will have our full attention.

You will receive a text/email about your treatment once a session has been booked.
Once your initial assessment is carried out, your Chartered Physiotherapist will formulate an individual treatment plan and will be in a position to give you a rough indication of how many sessions will be required. It is our aim, to make you pain-free, within the shortest possible time, with the least number of visits.
This practice requires a minimum 24 hours’ notice if you wish to cancel your appointment. This provides the practice with an opportunity to offer the appointment to other patients.
If you do not provide 24 hours’ notice and you do not attend for your appointment, the practice may at its discretion, charge for the consultation.
